Royal Show Fashion Parade is Back! Celebrating wool from farm to fashion.

The Royal Show Fashion Parade was an incredible success, providing the perfect platform to launch our newest winter pieces. The atmosphere was a stunning blend of fashion and farming, with beautifully styled and professional models showcasing our designs amidst a backdrop that truly celebrated the essence of our brand—Western Australian merino wool. Surrounded by sheep and wool displays, the event even featured a live shearer on stage, reminding everyone of the strong connection between fashion and our local farming community.

The models brought our pieces to life with elegance and sophistication, perfectly capturing the timeless quality and thoughtful design that defines our collection. Each look reflected our dedication to slow fashion that lasts all seasons, combining style and sustainability in a way that felt both modern and classic.

Scanlan Wools seeks larger market for WA Merino wool with new partnerships

Scanlan Wools seeks larger market for WA Merino wool with new partnerships

Perth-based Scanlan Wools is in the process of exporting products from its subsidiary clothing brand, Swoolly, into India, as well as seeking “suitable brand partners” in Australia as it grows its business.

The Swoolly brand entered the market in 2018, after the Scanlan family business decided to “encapsulate functional, long-lasting garments that reflected the Australian lifestyle” — something it thought was missing in the market.

The development comes on the back of new additions to the Swoolly product range, including sweaters and coats created in house by fashion designer Sophie Brown during the COVID-19 outbreak, when trade difficulties were commonplace.

What do you call a sweater made from wool? The SWOOLLY!

What do you call a sweater made from wool? The SWOOLLY!

In an initiative by WA wool company Scanlan Wools, a new knitwear brand, SWOOLLY, was launched in January that uses Merino wool from only Western Australia. The company’s initial aim has been to produce a high-quality Merino wool sweater at a price everyone can afford.

Scanlan Wools is a broker and merchant with more than three decades experience of buying and selling Western Australian wool. Earlier this month, it took another step into apparel retailing with the launch of a quality worsted knitted sweater, known as the SWOOLLY.

The SWOOLLY is produced with a worsted yarn made from 19.5-micron Western Australian Merino wool.

Fashion line is child’s play

A Perth fashion designer conscious of Australia’s burgeoning wool export trade is set to release a children’s wear range made from Merino wool at the State’s largest Merino sheep show, which starts tomorrow.

The Scanlan Collective will launch at Make Smoking History Wagin Woolorama in the form of a pop-up shop and aims to create a portfolio of timeless designs in the near future.

Scanlan Collective proprietors Emily Linke (nee Scanlan) and cousin Leanne Scanlan Greig said they had a passion and love of wool going back to their youthful play among the wool bales at the stores of the business run by Ms Linke’s father, the well-known Peter Scanlan Wools.
